Under the pristine stain glass and regal gold trimmed rotunda of its downtown location, Heinen’s and Metropolitan at the 9 are once again giving visitors a chance to imbibe in a curated wine event.

Now in its second year, Grapes Under Glass is now a four-day wine celebration running April 19 through April 22. The event kicks off with a dinner on Thursday night.

Aside from the opening night dinner, the event mostly maintains the same schedule as last year, including a California Blue Chip wine dinner on Friday. The rest of the weekend includes seminars that teach attendees how to properly enjoy a glass of wine on Saturday as well as a Champagne brunch on Sunday.

While the event closely mirrors last year’s iteration, Ed Thompkins, Heinen’s wine buyer, reassures, while speaking to Cleveland.com, that there’s enough variation in the current food and wine selection to thrill returning palates.

"Every year the challenge is to evolve and add new opportunities while maintaining the distinct flavors of the core," Thompkins told Cleveland.com.

With all three floors of the Heinen’s grocery store set to be used, expect to see a bevy of rare and unique wines from winemakers travelling into Cleveland specifically for the event.

Tickets are expected to go on sale soon.
