Last Week in Cleveland Food News: Ohio City Getting New Izakaya, Cocktail Bar

– After a year and a half of pop-ups, Kyuu-juu, the new izakaya from partners Ryan Endrian and Chef Kwan and executive chef Dereck White, is slated to open very soon in Ohio City on the first floor of an old Victorian that houses Sushi Kuwahata on the second level.
– Hereafter, a new cocktail bar from bartending vet Gabriela Holzer, is coming to Ohio City this winter.
– And the developments in the neighborhood don’t stop there. Carmen Paponetti is reviving Domo Yakitori and Sushi, which operated at Van Aken for three years before closing, in a new west side location.
– Cosm will be the anchor tenant for Bedrock’s new development at the corner of East 4th and Huron, landing Cleveland one of the handful of locations of the immersive sports entertainment venues.
– Midnight Owl has partnered with Mendel Segal to turn the kitchen and brewery operation fully kosher.
– Fans of Il Forno in Avon shouldn’t expect many changes as the operation changes hands this month.
