Ohio-based singer Dr. E, an artist who regularly performs in Northeast Ohio, has put together a special tribute to soul singers Aretha Franklin and Phyllis Hyman. Dubbed Strong Song Queens: A Night Honoring Aretha Franklin and Phyllis Hyman, the concert, which takes place at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Bop Stop, will find Dr. E revisiting the artists’ songs.

“These genre-defining, boundary-crossing, way-making women were nothing less than incredible,” says Dr. E in a press release about the concert. “Their honesty, virtuosity and fierceness have influenced aspiring and legendary vocalists, musicians, and prominent artists across the globe. Spend a night feeling the vibrations of these Strong Song Queens.”

Tickets cost $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Proceeds benefit the East Tech Class of 78 Scholarship Fund.
