Wasted Society, a heavy rock/punk band featuring Sam “SlamCookie” Cook on vocals and bass, Andrew “Wasted Drew” Burant on guitar and Cortney “Gunshot” Rosati on drums, just released “Shake Me Don’t Wake Me,” its rousing first single that features gritty guitars, gruff call-and-response vocals, and a melodic pop hook.

The group has also put out an accompanying music video.

Currently competing in a virtual Battle of the Bands to get on Warped Tour, the band cites the Hellacopters, the Offspring and Motörhead as influences.

Waster Society is slated to play on Saturday at the Foundry, on Feb. 28 at the Five O’Clock Lounge in Lakewood, on March 8 at the Matinee in Akron, on March 13 at the Happy Dog and on March 22 at Halo Live in Sandusky.
