Fallin For You – Colbie Caillat

Two years ago, Colbie Caillat began a yearlong assault on the charts with “Bubbly,” a song that was played on the radio so much, we were pretty much beaten into liking the song (sorta like what happens to Malcolm McDowell in A Clockwork Orange, only even more horrendous).

Caillat has a new album, Breakthrough, coming out on August 25. “Fallin’ for You,” the first single, was recently released. It’s a lot less sleepy than “Bubbly,” but it still sounds like something Jack Johnson would toss off before he peels his breakfast banana.

The video for “Fallin’ for You” features the leggy Caillat frolicking on the beach with Saturday Night Live‘s Bobby Moynihan. Apparently, Andy Samberg and Bill Hader don’t come cheap these days. And apparently they couldn’t come up with a suckier concept for a video than the ol’ cute-girl-falls-for-overweight-doofus thing. —Michael Gallucci

  1. I can’t imagine if she would have hired Andy or Bill they would have taken all the attention from Colbie and it is her music video. She has money she could have hired however she wanted. As far as the concept of the video I don’t think there is anything wrong with it because with the songs content in mind it is the perfect idea. (I thought that there were parts that were really funny as well.
