British Glam-Rock quartet The Struts took over the House of Blues last night in celebration of the tenth anniversary of their breakout album Everybody Wants.
Frontman Luke Spiller, who bears more than a passing resemblance to Freddie Mercury, took his outfit through an evening of glam and power pop, as they played the album in its entirety. Interestingly, the album charted in the US higher than it did in its native England, filling a void in a market that was/is sorely lacking in pure Rock music.
They offered up a four-tune encore, covering Queen’s “We Will Rock You” in an appropriate homage to a band that is clearly an influence on their power pop sensibilities.
Dirty Honey, a bluesy-rock quartet from Los Angeles, opened the show with an up-tempo set of eleven tunes, a mixture of their three album releases.
