Akron native Chrissie Hynde has a new album coming out on August 24 with singer-songwriter JP Jones.

Fidelity! will be released under the name JP, Chrissie & the Fairground Boys.

The album is a multiculti affair, written in Cuba, recorded in London, and mixed in California.

It’s a concept album of sorts about the relationship between the Pretenders frontwoman and Welshman Jones.

You can hear the first single, “If You Let Me,” above.

We’re kinda digging it here. What do you think of it? —Michael Gallucci (follow me on Twitter @mgallucci)

  1. I read that Chrissie is also working on a solo album (whatever that may mean) for likely release in late 2010 or early 2011. Anybody have info on that?

I can’t get a hadle on this single from “Fidelity,” sounds rather run-of-the-mill. But the album title is cool and maybe there will be some gems in there by JP (?); Chrissie; and the Fariground Boys (?). Chrissie’s last Pretenders line up for “Break Up the Concrete” was awesome; that’s going to be a hard act to foloow!
