As the World Churns unloads a barrage of borderline-funny gags that run the gamut from simplistic to juvenile. "Subway (the Parody)" tells the story of ordering a sub. Along the way, it makes a detour through Cake's "The Distance" and on to the chorus: "He's making a sandwich/He's going for cheese." It's a groaner, but it's the best sammitch-shop jam you'll hear this year.
As for the anti-weed number "Prick" -- it contains some winning social commentary: "You think you're pretty hot/We all know you're not . . . You're nothing but a prick." If the disc doesn't make you snort at least once, you are some kind of prick.
