The Whiskey Hollow, a local indie rock band fronted by powerhouse singer Madeline Finn, takes inspiration from a number of sources. The band cites Shakey Graves, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Jeff Buckley, the Black Keys and Alabama Shakes as influences. Now, the group has just issued a new music for the tune “Hudson Hill,” a twangy song that makes reference to a “loaded gun.”
Director Stephen Milnarcik used 1,599 hand cut stop-motion frames, painted miniatures and paper figures to creat the video for the single from the band’s new album, available tomorrow on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. Tomorrow night at 8:30 at the Grog Shop, the band hosts a CD release party. Midnight Passenger, Group and Trios open.
