The Cleveland-based electronic duo I, Electronic has just announced it’ll release its latest single, “The Brimstone Club (Witches Brew Remix),” on Oct. 1. The track is a “high-octane reinterpretation” of the Gothic original by the local act Midnight Syndicate. The song blends cinematic horror with trance, industrial, future pop, and dark synth music.

Originally featured on Midnight Syndicate’s 2023 album, The Brimstone Club, the track has been remixed to include hypnotic beats, gritty synths, and melodic hooks.

“We were inspired by Midnight Syndicate’s cinematic vibe and wanted to honor it with our own sound,” says I, Electronic’s Pat Berdysz in a press release. “The remix builds on a longstanding creative partnership, including past reworks like ‘Graveyard (Dead and Buried Remix),’ a song featured in the 2009 film Dead Matter.”

I, Electronic is the father-daughter duo Pat and Makenna Berdysz. Pat Berdysz handles production and composition while Makenna Berdysz provides vocals.

Pat Berdysz was a member of UV from 2001 to 2005 when he wrote many of the tracks and produced the band’s full-length debut, Coderbreaker. From 2005 to 2009, he was a founding member of the local group Encoder, which released two full-length albums, Supernatural and Slivers of Time, during that four-year run.

The group performs on Saturday at the Foundry Concert Club, where it opens for She 1, Him 2.
