Lorain singer-songwriter Jaclyn Bradley teaches voice lessons at Rock Town Music Academy, a music school located in Lorain. The space also functions as an area for working musicians to instruct students on piano, guitar, drum and strings. And she still manages to find time to work on her own music too.

Just this week, Bradley has released a new music video for her track “Chicago,” a tribute to the Windy City.

It features animation by visual artist Brooke Archer as well as real footage of the city of Chicago.

“Collaborating with other artists is one of the greatest aspects of working in music” says Bradley in an email. “It is always a privilege to learn from and combine forces with other creative people.”

Another artist featured on “Chicago” is cellist Jordan Alegant, a graduate of Berklee School of Music in Boston who teaches cello, guitar, bass and recording arts at Rock Town Music Academy.

“The track resonated with me on first listen,” says Alegant, “I was really able to dive into it and create a complimentary cello part that helped tell the story.”

Lorain’s Derek Connell served as co-writer, and the song was recorded in Nashville by Austin Moorhead, a Yale grad who’s also worked with country acts Maddie and Tae and Carly Pearce.

Bradley started writing the tune years ago during “a time of change” in her own life.

“It is my hope that this song and music video will bring comfort and hope to anyone facing transition or incertitude,” she says. “By following the joy, serving others and believing in a better tomorrow, one is sure to find beauty on the other side.”
