Comedy legend and all-around quirky guy Bill Murray swung through Northeast Ohio on Saturday night with his band The Blood Brothers in tow. Playing to a very enthusiastic crowd, the ensemble covered a litany of classic tunes from Murray’s younger days.
Suffice to say, he’s a much better comedian than a frontman. He spent much of the time behind a set of bongos, allowing other members of his outfit to shine.
Cleveland native Dave Hill was the opener, combining some tasty guitar work with a stand-up routine. His forty-five minute set was a combo of dry humor and songs, some of them containing references to growing up on the East Side. Making fun of an audience member from Toledo, he said they were from “Akron West.” Many of the jokes hit, some didn’t.
Here’s all the action we caught.
