Plenty of classic rockers don’t age well. They gain weight and lose their hair. They can barely hit the high notes. Not singer-songwriter Jackson Browne. The guy essentially looks (and sounds) the same as he did decades ago. He’s got a new album coming out in October and has just announced fall tour dates. The jaunt starts on September 14 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and ends on November 24, at London’s Royal Albert Hall. While Browne is currently on a solo tour, for the fall tour, he’ll hook up with bandmates Val McCallum (guitar), Mauricio Lewak (drums), Jeff Young (keyboards) and Bob Glaub (bass). He’ll also have lap steel guy Greg Leisz with him. “This is my ideal band, with some of my favorite players, all of whom appear on the new CD, and whose combined gifts provide the musical foundation and emotional underpinnings of my new songs,” says Jackson in an press release. “The interplay between Val McCallum and Greg Leisz on this album - the effortlessness of their chemistry is a gift really, that just dropped into my lap. I feel fortunate to have them out on the road for this tour.” He’ll play at Akron’s EJ Thomas Performing Arts Hall on Oct. 15. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday through Ticketmaster.
