New York rapper Styles P is as well known for his personal drama as he is for his music. He had a couple of hits as a member of the Diddy-guided Lox back in the '90s. But after the crew left Puff's Bad Boy label, they demanded (and eventually received) a bigger cut of their publishing rights. Styles also recently made peace with former foe Beanie Sigel, who shows up in "U Ain't Ready 4 Me," a cut on Super Gangster (Extraordinary Gentleman). Unfortunately, like most of Styles' fourth CD, its bark is much stronger than its bite. Released just a year after Time Is Money, Super Gangster sounds rushed and creatively stunted. In fact, Styles is shown up by his guests throughout the album. Bully upstages him in "In It to Win It," while Raw Buck steamrolls over "Shoot Niggas." It also doesn't help matters that a throwaway skit (featuring comedian Tony Roberts) provides the disc's best lines.
