This past December, the band shot a music video for “Don’t Try,” the title track from its forthcoming EP. Directed by Rob Montague, it features cinematography by Robert Reiland and Eric Leiser.
“Over the last five years we’ve worked really hard and snow-balled into a regional touring band, releasing two full-length albums, embarking on multiple nationwide tours including SXSW and opening for national acts such as Bon Jovi, Collective Soul, Bastille, among many, many others,” says drummer Ray Lumpp. “Our last single was also featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlist when it was released.
Corey King says poet and novelist Charles Bukowski inspired "Don't Try," and the lyrics include a reference to Bukowski, who has "don't try" carved into his tombstone. The song is also a nod to Bukowski's poem "So You Want to Be A Writer."
The forthcoming five-song EP was recorded and produced in North Canton with Spencer Martin and mastered in Cleveland by Adam Boose of Cauliflower Audio.
The band will play a release show on July 6 at Musica in Akron, and original drummer Pete Childerson will return to play for the night.
