Update: Akron Man Involved In Terrible Cat Kicking Video Allegedly Shot Somebody

Update II: Looks like 21-year-old Roy Hill is averse to friends of both the feline and human variety. Cleveland.com reports this week that Hill has been charged with felonious assault for allegedly shooting a man twice after an argument on Thursday.

"Hill and a 44-year-old man argued Thursday morning. The nature of the argument is unknown. Hill pulled out a handgun and shot the man in the right leg and hand. Hill ran off. The man was taken to Akron General Medical Center. His injuries are not life threatening, Akron police said," Cleveland.com writes.

Hill and 19-year-old Trevonte Mitchell were both involved in the cat kicking incident last year.

Update: The Akron man who admitted to kicking a cat more than three feet in the air last year just for fun was arrested this week, more than a year after skipping his Aug. 2014 sentencing hearing, Cleveland.com reports.

19-year-old Trevonte Mitchell was scheduled to appear in court on August 29, 2014 for his sentence after pleading guilty to a second degree misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty, but he never showed. Yesterday, a police officer spotted Mitchell near South Arlington Street in Akron. "He also faces a new charge of carrying a concealed weapon after an Akron police officer found him with a loaded handgun, according to court records," Cleveland.com's Adam Ferrise writes.

After last year's hearing, Mitchell reported receiving death threats and unwanted attention. He also told those in attendance at his hearing "I don't like cats now."

Mitchell has been booked at the Summit County Jail.

An Akron man has been identified by authorities after he allegedly uploaded a video to Facebook last week in which he kicks a cat three feet into the air just for fun.

The video shows the man standing next to a cat before turning and punting the poor creature. The cat lands, then runs away, as another man laughs, "Ohhh shit, ohhh, ohhh, shit," off-screen.

Understandably, the video has sparked outrage from thousands of internet users including the Ohio Animal Abuser List who shared the video on their own page to raise awareness about this particular incident and animal cruelty as a whole.

Akron police have confirmed the man, who is identified on Facebook as Roy Hill, is from Akron, but they are still trying to determine where the incident took place and whether or not criminal charges can be filed.

"We are working on it. We take animal cruelty cases like this very seriously," Akron Police Capt. Daniel Zampelli told Channel 5. "Our first steps are to ID the man, find out where he is at and confront him. From there we will work with the prosecutor's office to figure out if charges should be filed."

The video has since been removed from Hill's Facebook page, but can still be found on other social sharing sites. Here's the copy from the Ohio Animal Abuser List's page, but do note, this video may be disturbing to some viewers.
