Since its 1994 release, the hope-filled film has brought curious fans out to places like the Ohio State Reformatory and other nearby haunts to catch a glimpse of where the film was made. But with the nation-wide theater release of the Oscar-nominated movie, which kicked off Sunday, people can once again be reminded of the film’s power (it’s not ranked as one of the most beloved films for nothing).
