In a unanimous vote held on Monday, Chagrin Falls village council issued a complete ban on the use of cell phones while driving.
That means that anyone caught texting, emailing, or fiddling with any kind of mobile device while driving through Chagrin Falls can be pulled over and slapped with a fine; a standard that is more severe than state regulations which only permits folks to be charged with cell phone use if they were pulled over for another reason.
The ban in Chagrin Falls follows on the heels of
similar moves by Shaker Heights, Beachwood, South Euclid, and Pepper Pike.
The new law will go in effect in 30 days. Drivers using Blue Tooth devices are exempt.
