The Cleveland Indians confirmed they will close the doors of three of their four remaining team stores after the holiday shopping season.
With the increase of online sales, in-store profits have sunk to an all time low, prompting the team to retire its retail spaces in Fairview Park, North Canton, and Strongsville as of Jan. 27.
“We’re evaluating all facets of our business, and we felt the market conditions are no longer economically viable” to keep the three team shops open, Curtis Danburg, the Indians’ senior director of communications, told Crain’s Cleveland.
The Progressive Field store will remain open.

so sad this looks to be most retail in the coming future. hello to not leaving your home to shop don’t complain there isn’t anything to do
The outlets were also a solid way for fans to purchase tickets…..which has become much easier online.
This is sad. At least twice this season I decided on a weeknight to go to the game tomorrow and ran up to the Fairview location (5-10 min from my house) to buy tickets and avoid some fees. One time I also bought a $25 hat. Way to screw the fans Indians. I am not going to deal with downtown parking, drive time etc…
No word on the team shop they operate in Goodyear, Arizona at the spring training facility.
Yeah, I’m not driving downtown to shop for anything at their team store down there. I enjoyed going into the Strongsville Team Shop, I actually got 3 different Christmas gifts there.
