From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, the museum will be open to the public so guests can participate in activities to celebrate the special occasion for this major Cleveland attraction.
All-day events include free entry to CMA's current featured exhibit Pharaoh: King of Ancient Egypt, a centennial photo opportunity, a pop-up restaurant in the atrium, and a special centennial celebration ice cream flavor from Pierre's.
There will also be live music featured throughout the museum including the gallery spaces and restaurants.
Guests are also provided the opportunity to attend scheduled activities that will occur at specific times throughout the day such as guided tours at 11 a.m., gallery talks at noon, various art study rooms at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., and cake and ice cream will be served at 2:30 p.m. To see the complete schedule of activities for the event, visit the CMA website.
And finally, in a perfect combination of birthday fun and refined art museum flair, CMA is presenting a special one-day-only installation of art-inspired cakes. The exhibit will feature cakes from local bakeries from all over Cleveland, each inspired by a highlight of the CMA's collection.
The museum invites attendees to share their experience through photos using the hashtags #HappyBirthdayCMA and #100YearsofCMA.
