With four months left until the World Cup kicks off across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, squads are lining up training schedules and prep in North America.

Cleveland, of course, isn’t one of the 11 American cities hosting games, but it will be home to an international friendly between Brazil and Egypt on June 6 at Huntington Bank Field, according to multiple reports out of Brazil in the past week.

An official announcement will come Thursday from the Browns, Haslam Sports Group, Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, Unified Events and Florida Citrus Sports.

Coming just days before the World Cup kicks off on June 11, the matchup on the shores of Lake Erie will feature plenty of potential star power, including the likes of Vinícius Júnior and Mo Salah.

Cleveland’s hosted a recent MLS game (the Crew vs Inter Miami in 2025), an international friendly for the women’s national team (vs. Paraguay in 2021), and a CONCACAF match between the men’s national and Trinidad and Tobago (2019).
