The alter ego of comic Roy Haylock and the season 6 winner of RuPaul's
Drag Race, Bianca del Rio admits to being a “clown in a gown.” The
New York Times has called her "The Joan Rivers of the Drag World," and the late Joan Rivers has said Bianca's humor is "funny" and sharp." In advance of the release of her first feature film,
Hurricane Bianca, del Rio has announced dates for a new comedy tour.
She returns to Playhouse Square on Oct. 14 with her new show, Not Today Satan. It picks up where her last tour, Rolodex of Hate, left off and chronicles how she became “gay famous” after moving to Los Angeles in the wake of
RuPaul's Drag Race. The show also addresses “the inherent challenges of dating and making a living as a man in a dress.”
“When I’m not busy volunteering at the soup kitchen or knitting socks for orphans, one of my favorite pastimes is gathering the cold, huddled masses into a nice warm room, giving them shelter if only for an hour, and sharing valuable life advice from a hate guru,” says del Rio in a press release.
Tickets for the show go on sale at 11 a.m. tomorrow at
playhousesquare.org. Prices are $37.50 and $75. Specially-priced VIP packages will also be available.
