A spokesperson claimed the program had become too complicated to maintain, citing customer concerns. Here is the math on FuelPerks. You get 10 cents off for each $50 you spend, right? So, in order to get your $3.50 per gallon gas free, you have to spend $1,750. Let’s assume your gas tank holds 20 gallons for the heck of it. Filling up for free, you would save $70 ($3.50 x 20). So, if you spend $1,750, you can save $70, or 4%. This falls to 3% if you have a 15 gallon tank. Why fuel parks is so popular, I have no idea, but I’d like to think I have the skills to save more than 4% on groceries worth $1750.
