The
Great Lakes Science Center is ringing in the holidays in the best way possible: by blowing up fruit cakes, of course. The very scientific demonstration is all in spirit of the "Winter Week" festivities running from Dec. 26 through Jan. 2 at the center.
Along with detonating fruitcakes twice a day on the front lawn, there will be carpet skating, hourly dance parties with artificial snow, magnetic ice fishing and liquid nitrogen ice cream making. These activities are included in the Science Center admission for around $15 for adults and $12 for the kiddies, along with a recommended donation for its annual coat drive.
