The Cleveland Indians announced today that tickets for the season opener on April 10 against the Detroit Tigers has sold out.

Despite ongoing struggles to fill seats during the regular season, opening day sales haven’t been an issue in years. This is the Tribe’s twenty-third consecutive home opener that has sold out.

  1. Yet I tried repeatedly to get a single ticket from about 10:00 until 10:30, and it said there wasn’t a single ticket available. Not one at 10:00 sharp. But don’t worry, there are already thousands on StubHub for more than double face value, which makes sense…

  2. Ya. It was a joke. They obviously let people buy before 10:00. I logged in at 9:50 and still couldn’t get a ticket

  3. I can’t say how many tickets the Indians sold before the online sale, but I’m pretty sure everyone had access at the same time. If you logged in before 10, you were placed in a “waiting area” until the sale opened. It was close to impossible to get the exact seats you wanted, but I was still finding tickets around 10:20-10:30. You just had to keep making requests.

    Difficult…extremely. Unfair…not so much.
