Cleveland native and screenwriter Joe Eszterhas completed a script for “The Maccabees,” a “Jewish Braveheart,” as Mel Gibson called it.

Problem is, Joe hasn’t heard back from Mel about the film and Joe thinks that in the heat of Gibson’s anti-Semitic problems, he latched on to the project to defray the backlash while having no real intentions of going forward with the movie.

Worse than that, Eszterhas thinks it’s worse than being flaky: Eszterhas thinks Mel Gibson hates Jews.

  2. Where did Cleveland Ohio go to? What have we become but a bunch of Joe the plumbers from Toledo and a bunch of Joe the fucking idiots from Cleveland. Jimmy the fucking prick from Independence and Tony the fucking serial killer from Imperial Avenue. Some dick-head kills some of his own at a Cracker-fucking-barrell and some fucking kid kills a bunch of kids in a lunch room in Chardon..then we all give our best and a few bucks and cover it up like a cat does with its shit. We listen while spoiled fucking brats tell us how we should think and then we go to church and feel alright for an hour or so and then start up with the hate mantra again. What the fuck?

  5. No offense here, but probably the #1 reason why Mel Gibson doesn’t want to put out a movie about the Maccabees is because he knows there is a 90% chance it’s going to bomb at the box office. #justsaying
