Farts are funny. George Carlin said that, and he was right. Farts are seriously funny to teenage boys. The bowels of the gastrointestinal system, both in sight and sound, provide endless entertainment at that age, and well beyond. It's natural, after all. Everyone poops. Everyone farts.
Which is why the idea of punishing a 13-year-old for tooting on a school bus strikes us as utterly ridiculous and harsh and un-American.
