Man Makes Up Robbery to Get Ride Home From Cops


Stuck at the mall, cold, alone, with no ride and no money, and you need to get home? What oh what to do?

One thing you don't do: Dial 911, tell cops you were robbed at gunpoint, and hope they take you home.

However, when an officer arrived at the mall to talk to him, [Andre] Otis's story became inconsistent.

Ultimately, Otis admitted that he made the story up because he was cold and had no ride home, police said.

Otis was charged with misdemeanor counts of falsification and misuse of 911.

But hey, he did make it home. It worked!
