Northeast Ohio Survived Another (Tiny) Earthquake Over the Weekend

Following the shake up that felt something like a large concrete truck driving by last week, the United States Geological Survey reports that another earthquake has hit Northeast Ohio.

While last week’s quake hit 4.5 on the Richter magnitude scale and was barely felt, the one that rolled out in Lake County around 10:30 p.m. last night must have been essentially imperceptible, coming in at a a 1.5 magnitude near Willowick.

As this last week is proving, just because Northeast Ohio isn’t famous for its earthquakes (hello, west coast) doesn’t mean they don’t ever happen here. Since the USGS has started tracking in 1836, more than 100 small earthquakes have registered in the Cleveland area, often underneath Lake Erie.

Obviously, no damage occurred following the quake. Meanwhile, it continues to rain and rain and rain.
