Update: Make that 130 times.

Police were called to the Ace of Spades strip club in Akron this weekend after a Canton man was shot and killed early Sunday morning.

Cleveland.com reports: "Joshua Curtis, 27, was shot about 5 a.m. Sunday at the Ace of Spades parking lot in the 2500 block of Romig Road. He suffered several gunshot wounds and died about an hour later at Akron General Medical Center. Curtis is the second person killed at the strip club since the Dec. 23, 2012 slaying of Desmond Ward, 26."

One strip club, 129 police visits and a man shot in the groin. Akron's Ace of Spades doesn't seem like the place to go for a lap dance.

In just three years, cops have been called to the strip club at 2511 Romig Road nearly 130 times, Cleveland.com notes. The Akron Police Department has 13 pages of incident reports at this address between 2012 and now. Highlights include the guy who tried to smuggle a revolver into the establishment in his arm cast, the 26-year-old who was shot and killed inside after an altercation, the girl who was attacked with a high heel, the guy discovered with 41 grams of marijuana in his underwear and vehicle break-ins galore.

This week, the 129th visit was marked with a man shot in the groin.

Cleveland.com reports that the bullet threatened his manhood on Saturday at 5 a.m. outside Ace of Spades and that the tires and back window of a van were also shot out. No arrests have been made. Rest assured, though, his injuries were not life-threatening. We suspect he'll be back in the game soon enough.
