“We are excited to showcase the sport of yo-yo’s top competitors and provide a substantial $1.5 million boost to the economy,” said Jeff Pacini of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission Vice President of Business Development in a statement.
Hundreds of competitors from 30 countries are participating this year showcasing five types of yo-yoing: 1A (single yo-yo), 2A (double yo-yo looping), 3A (double yo-yo sleeping), 4A (offstring) and 5A (counterweight). Counterweight style of play was invented by Northeast Ohio native Steve Brown, don’t ya know.
