The Blizzard Bank Robber

Everyone was pretty preoccupied in downtown Cleveland yesterday, what with the 137 inches of snow that fell between noon and midnight. Businesses shut down early, commuters clogged every road in the city, traffic was at a standstill in the slush, and those in no hurry to go anywhere either watched the carnage in delight or ducked into local watering holes to pass the time with some adult beverages.

And then there was this enterprising, opportunistic gentleman who the FBI says robbed a downtown U.S. Bank branch in the middle of the lake-effect blizzard and used the gridlock and confusion outside to make a clean, if slow, getaway.

Cleveland.com reports:

FBI spokesman Scott Wilson said the robber handed a note to a teller at the U.S. Bank branch on Public Square at 2:15 p.m. demanding money. The note said he had a gun.
