Former County Commissioner Tim Hagan has a new gig at Metro. At a time when hospital is cutting costs, they’ll be taking on Hagan as a senior adviser.
According to the PD, which references Metro’s press release:
Hagan will be working with Vice President of Government Relations and Community Affairs, John R. Corlett, according to a news release from Metro Health.
His duties will include expanding enrollment in the MetroHealth Select health plan; to work with regional leaders to expand access to MetroHealth’s care; and to improve the community’s economic well-being by working with community advocates and neighborhood development corporations near MetroHealth and the Senior Health & Wellness Center in Old Brooklyn, according to the news release.

Expanding enrollment? Ha!
During his 20 years as county commissioner the county population dropped 136,000 per the US Fed 2009 estimates. Thats ummm…a 9.8% loss! Thats equivalent to the total population of Parma, Parma Hts, Seven Hills and Independence combined! Or for you west siders: Bay Village, Rocky River, Fairview Park, Westlake, North Olmsted, Olmsted Twp, and Olmsted Falls combined. For you the east siders: Euclid, Richmond Hts, South Euclid, and Cleveland Hts. combined! For you south siders: Berea, Strongsville, North Royalton Broadview Hts, and Brecksville combined. And finally you southeast siders: Solon, Bentleyville, Glen Willow, Oakwood, Walton Hills, Valley View, Bedford, Bedford Hts, Maple Hts, Garfield Hts, Warrensville, Highland, Orange and Moreland Hills COMBINED!!!
He also was involved in forcing Modell to move. How so? Modell had a contract to operate and maintain the, then 50 yr old Stadium, from the rents he collected from the Indians and special events. Well, when the Indians moved to the new stadium, Modell asked the County Commissioners (Hagan, Bolye, Petro) and former Cleveland Mayor White for $130 million to fix up the stadium since now there were no rents monies coming in to make needed fixes. They said NO! The result: Modell moved the players to Baltimore and we watch those players win a super bowl 3 years later. We are also forced to build a $285 million stadium for the faux Browns that have haunted us for the past ten years.
Then Hagan was involved in the $32 million purchase of a building for the county. Now ANYBODY that makes a real estate purchase ALWAYS makes it conditional based upon an inspection approval. In this case it should have been conditional on a preliminary design for usefulness. But “NO”, they just go out and buy the damn building, and then, find out it can’t be used as intended. Finally, in order to sell it, another $13 million is spent on asbestos removal.
What has NOT been explored is that Jacobs was the main beneficiary in those two big financial deals. Coincidence?
So Hagan’s 20 years of service cost us: $285 million for Browns stadium, a faux Browns team that plays like a farm club, over $40 million for a useless building that we still can’t sell, a 9.8% county population drop, and finally…watching the former Browns win a Super Bowl in 2000 (priceless). This does not take into account the cost of the Medical Mart fiasco with his Kennedy family ties at MMPI.
Attn: John Corlett,
Since you can afford to throw around $90,000 for a 3 day-a-week salary position, I’ll assume that Metro General has more than enough money to operate. I, therefore, will NEVER vote for another ballot involving monies for Metro Health, regardless its intended purpose. I will in fact be an active campaigner for the opposition.
I am glad I have Insurance and may go to any hospital I choose if I require it. I will tell the truth, I’d rather go to Butt Fuck, Slobovia with a case of K-Y Jelly than to any hospital ASSociated with Captain Janeways cuckold husband.
What? He’s not going to work for MMPI after delivering a half billion of our tax dollars to them in the form of the no-bid contract to build the convention center and medical mart? Or is that what he will do with his other two days? I’ll be glad to work three days a week for half that money.
