Remember that Randy Lerner fella, Browns fans? After selling the Browns to Jimmy Haslam, Lerner absconded from Cleveland but still had another team he owned to worry about — Aston Villa. (Much like his time in Cleveland, he’s described as an absentee in that regard.)

Things have not gone well there for many, many years, but this season is creeping inevitably toward the lowest point possible — relegation from the Premier League (which would be a first in 30 years for the club).

Villa fans are not pleased. There’s a lovely little chant — emblazoned on a t-shirt also, if that’s your thing — making the rounds that conveys as much. And it’s sung to the tune of Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Achy Breaky Heart.” (There’s also a less lovely chant wishing Randy Lerner dead and promising a party afterward.)

  1. Randy Lerner screwed up Aston Villa much worse than his sleepwalk of ineptitude with the Cleveland Browns. Lerner’s association with soccer began as a teen…..being a gofer for the Cleveland Cobras of the outdoor American Soccer League,….and culminated decades later with his purchase (yes, it was popular with fans when he cut the check) of one of the most iconic clubs in European pro soccer.
