Kevin Kiley appeared on Channel 19’s broadcast this evening to make an announcement. The simple version: After filling the airwaves with garbage for many years, Kiley will cease doing so.
He announced that back in November he had submitted his resignation to Top Men at 92.3, to be effective at the end of this month. Tony Zarella asks Kiley where he goes from here, and Kiley replies, “I go away.”
The morning show host, of course, gathered national headlines last month when he said that there was no place for women to be coaches in men’s professional sports. (This followed earlier comments where Kiley said he believed women also shouldn’t be refs or Hall of Fame voters. So Cleveland had been blessed with a Grade-A class act.)
Anyway, no more.
“For reasons that were unrelated to this,” Kiley says, he’s out. Those reasons have to do with the fact that he doesn’t think his principles of business match with the principles of 92.3. (For starters, Kiley probably thinks the station shouldn’t hire any women.)
“I’ll be ending at the end of the month, maybe at the end of the show,” Kiley added, before bringing up Orson Welles and Howard Stern and, once again, attempting to defend himself for his absolutely ignorant comments. “I have no right to accept censorship,” he says. “Demand the truth.”

Did a 5 year old write this article? Grammatical errors galore.
You have so many grammatical errors in your post it discredits everything you.
Wait so he said something that probably 75% of people agree with?
You’re (Cleveland scene writer) the true joke my friend. I’ve listened to this man for the better part of three years. I disagree with him from time to time but that doesn’t make him wrong and me right. He’s honest with himself and more importantly with his audience. I can respect that. He’s real, the man gives his real opinions regarding real life matters. Matters that should be talked about, the lack of discussion and questioning in this country is part of why we are such a mess right now. Not enough people being honest and offering a real opinion or solution. Thanks to you Kevin, I appreciated you and your effort.
I just wish Scene could hire a writer that took pride in their knowledge of the English language and could write a 4 paragraph article without sounding like a semi-articulate 3rd grader. I don’t even like Kevin Kiley, but when there’s more writing errors than cheap shots thrown towards the subject in said article, it sort of invalidates the entire piece; for me at least.
I am shocked people still come to this website looking for “news.” I have to imagine once Mommy’s money is dried up this site goes 404 very quickly.
they should have fired this ass when they got rid of booms…, great decision
For about the initial six months of Kiley & Booms…..the programs were as good as anything they did on their national sports-talk show. Kiley then began to sleepwalk through each morning, while Booms tried to boost the comedic chops of the unfunny board op — and the show degenerated into shrieking Johnny Manziel shtick. When Booms was shown the door, it was obvious that Kiley was on his final local contract — it is surprising, though, that he demonstrated a bit of a pulse while whining on Channel 19.
Vince Grzegorek is so good at his job that he already knows what Kiley is thinking, but at no point in this “opinion” is it worth mentioning that Kiley is a former professional athlete who has seen the worst in men in the pro environment. He’s not entitled to his own opinion? Wish we had a document that could change that. Good hire, Scene.
I don’t listen to the show, but read the article out of interest in the local radio market. That said, Vince’s unprofessional bashing feels further out of line than anything that Kiley could do on his show. It felt far more personal than business. Grammatical errors aside, you may want to look in the mirror, Vince. There’s a difference between criticism and crap slinging…
this writer sucks. balls
Kiley will be missed. Now we get to hear the fat man and his stooge.
Everyone is free to feel however they want about something. When you express your opinion, however, you open yourself up to a lot of commentary, especially when you say something in a public setting. You either somehow make it through the pressure (like Trump has for whatever crazy reason), or you crumble because of it.
He Has Embrassed Cleveland For 4 Years Good Riddance Leave Cleveland The Sooner The Better
“the truth as they see it…”
there’s no opinion on the truth, stupid. think you summed up why you were canned pretty well there.
