Largely at the urging of Steve Loomis, the Cleveland police union voted to endorse Donald Trump. It was the first time the union had ever endorsed a presidential candidate.

The decision has drawn the ire of the public (there was a protest outside union headquarters last night) and some members of city council. Lynn Hampton, president of the local Black Shield Police Association (the union for black officers) said a Trump endorsement could increase the existing mistrust of police by minority communities.

It’s a fair point, especially when the option was on the table to simply not endorse a candidate.

  1. Black kids that kill police officers always “would never hurt anyone.” When Art McCoy had a radio show, he had a tribute to the kid that killed the officer in Twinsburg.

    The liberals think this stuff is great. It’s disgusting, hateful, and bigoted.

  2. Just watched the video. It is weird that Russ was shocked that Loomis is voting against the candidate and party that always blames the police.

  4. Steve Loomis lusts for expanded political might — but he’s late to the Trump Reichsleiter and can only hope that Rudy will begin putting the word out in the Braunes Haus that there is a frumpy guy in Cleveland willing to do anything for national notoriety.

In 46 years of not making any endorsement for president Cleveland Police Union decided to endorse Donald Trump because of “his support of training and resources.” The irony is Loomis never admits that police are part of the problem in any wrongful death shootings so how would more training benefit them? Donald Trump has said openly racist, misogynistic and highly inappropriate things no wonder Loomis supports him he is equally as terrible as a person.
