WATCH: Ohioans Go Water Skiing on Lake Erie in December

Plenty of Ohioans expect to go skiing in December. But with the recent warm weather and no snow predicted until January, few people have gotten the chance to try out the winter sport this year. Instead of heading to a mountain or waiting out this warm spell, three Sandusky men took to the lake.

In a video that's now gone viral, Ryan and Chad Whaley and Aaron Jacobs took their water skis out on Lake Erie Dec. 13 and had a blast. The crew took advantage of the strange weather, utilizing the 60-degree temperature to glide across the lake's surface.

In the footage, the men can be seen skipping across the water, managing to keep Santa hats on throughout the entire ride. Though the air was warm, the men can be heard commenting that the water was certainly not.

"Oh, it's cold, Jim," Ryan Whaley is heard saying to someone off-camera. "There's ice on that ski," He says later.

The video, which was shown on Good Morning America, Fox8 and the Weather Channel can be seen in full on Ryan Whaley's Facebook page and below:
