Former WMMS 100.7 personality Ben “Maxwell” Bornstein has returned to FM airwaves after a year off, and his curious new home at 98.5 WNCX is receiving mixed feedback about the morning drive host — but the early numbers look good. In recent memory, the classic rock station’s morning show has hovered around no. 7 in Arbitron ratings and hasn’t cracked the top five in any meaningful metrics.
The new Maxwell Show — Maxwell 2.0, as the host calls it — is fundamentally at odds with the ’NCX audience, who have been content with a little banter between the same warhorse songs they’ve been listening to since 1975. But the station was the home of Howard Stern for 12 years. With Maxwell and friends on the mic, it’s been way less rock, much more talk.

I am soooo happy that Maxwell is back wish it was in the afternoon but I understand Ncx is trying to kick rovers butt. They need to let Maxwell and his crew do what Maxwell and his crew do best and thats talk. I like music but there is enough time for that the rest of the day. I work from home and I am one of the people that streams Maxwells show in the morning!!
How is this ass-hat even on the air? Dead air, bad “joke”, dead air, attempt at telling a joke, but its just awful. I dont listen to it so I dont really care, but holy shit cant get much worse than this guy.

beyond stoked they’re back. best move wncx has made in a very long time. essentially multiplying there audience by ten (in speculation from the website jump ).. there will be more revenue coming in from sponsors.. new sponsors because a new market that’s actually listening ro the station. a better station.. all because of a better show. i can’t wait til the ratings come out.

Could hardly believe my eyes when I read that stat about their website hits increasing 10x. The Maxwell Show has always been appointment radio for me. I can’t wait every single day to hear what’s going on with Max, Stansbury, and Chunk. Oh, and cbrbart? Chunk’s HOT! I think you need to get your eyes checked, son!
The maxwell program in the morning has got to go somewhere else, as a group of loyal listeners for over 20 years these guys have just turned us off. NOT what we want to hear in the morning. Jerks. my dial has never been turned till recently. We do not want to hear the jerks opinions on chicken eggs, driving a truck through a vagina or any other similar issue. Assholes. Take it back to “wmmass” Me and several of buddies agree. If you want em, we may be out. Put them on some other program. WE DONT LIKE THEIR SHOW.
Personally I really liked Miller & Blanchard. I have now switched to The Bob & Tom Show. What the heck is bordink (or whatever it is he constantly says) anyhow?
Just when I thought Cleveland radio couldn’t get any worse, WNCX replaces Jeff and Scott with (gag) Maxwell! Are you kidding me?! Didn’t Cleveland learn its lesson the first time with this moron? Maxwell and his fellow morning show idiots haven’t been funny or even mildly entertaining since Maxwell got off drugs. Come on, WNCX! Time for satellite radio!
