Here’s a tip for the ladies: If you’re shopping for your first dildo with your mate, don’t pick one that’s bigger than he is.
This was just one of the discussion topics during Cleveland’s new Awkward Sex Show podcast that debuted last week at Bonnie and Clyde’s in Lakewood.
Not your ordinary podcast, this one depends on audience participation and there was quite a bit of that as people took the mic to unabashedly share their most embarrassing intimate moments. What, for example, do other people do about a first-time-sex-induced head butting that leaves them with a fat lip?
Is there really any difference between meth dick and coke dick? Yes, yes indeed there is. “Cocaine is the worst because you really want to fuck…but if it’s not up yet, it’s not happening.”
The show’s hosts, sisters Carey (30 and queer) and Bridget (33 and straight) Callahan, say they’ll do a weekly Awkward Sex Show with upcoming themes like faking it, and getting caught by the parents. Why awkward sex? “There are two things Clevelanders are really good at — being drunk and getting pregnant. So we already know you have lots of sex, we just want you to have more fun doing it,” says Bridget.
To keep it fun, participants are told that body snarking or judgment is off limits, and naming the partners you talk about is not allowed. They provide a baby name book so you can pick one to tell your story without identifying anyone. Whether you want to use your real name or not is up to you.
The Callahans are looking for a regular venue to broadcast from every week and when they find it, they will let you know on their blog at theawkwardsexshow.com/, on Twitter @AwkwardSexShow, and of course on Facebook at facebook.com/AwkwardCallahanGirls.
As for what they hope to gain from the effort: “Obviously we both hope this will get us laid a lot,” Bridget says. Past that, they’d like to be rich and famous.
Meanwhile, local comedian Tim Cornett will be giving a leg-up to other local podcasts during his new Bootlegger Comedy Party every Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at Bonnie and Clyde’s. He and other funny locals provide some good stand-up beforehand.
