Yes, that’s a deer swimming about 1000 meters offshore in Lake Erie. A fisher spotted the buck, snapped some photos, and tada, here’s one. More on the Cleveland Metroparks Facebook page, where there’s a short account of the encounter. Yes, the deer made it back to shore safely.

  1. MY SONS AND MY SELF WERE FISHING FOR PERCH BY THE CLEVELAND LIGHTHOUSE WHEN THIS BIG BUCK WENT SWIMMING BY OUR BOAT IN 30 SOME FEETOF WATER JUST COULD NOT BELIVE HE COULD SWIM THAT FAR ANDLONG IT WAS NICE TO SEE PEOPLE HELP HIM DAVE S

  2. After getting to shore, the buck gored and killed 5 Steelers Fans that were hanging around the shore. An award for outstanding service to the city is planned.

  3. How did people help it? Throw it a lifejacket? Throw it a line and made sure he was grippin it with his teeth and pulled him into shore? Or maybe someone lassoed it? OH WAIT! The coast guard helicopter went down and harnessed him In And Pulled Him Up? Anyone else with any Ideas?
