The Burntwood Tavern has announced the fifth location for its rapidly expanding restaurant concept, which originated in Chagrin Falls back in September of 2010. It will be located in historic downtown Cuyahoga Falls.

"The main thing we look for in a new location is community," says regional managing partner Ian Hopkins. "We thought the location was a great opportunity to showcase what we do best."

That location is the former home of the sprawling Samira restaurant (2291 Riverfront Pkwy.), which closed last year after less than three years in business. Perched above the river, the historic 6500-square-foot space has been home to numerous concepts.

"In fact, part of the building was the city's old power house," explains Hopkins. The restaurant group will keep as much of the historic design integrity as possible. "We are using the exposed brick and some of the old machinery to make a cool design. We are moving the bar right into the power house room."

Burntwood will also incorporate its trademark use of reclaimed barn wood that has become a signature look at all their existing locations. The bar will be separated from the dining room, while other spaces will be reserved for private dining. The complex has five exterior patios that range in size from 12 to 40 guests. "There are fantastic river views from our patios," notes Hopkins.

The comfort food-style menu will be a carbon copy of the other locations, and a chef will be named soon from within their ranks. Look for a mid-August opening.
