The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs is Telling French Visitors to Cleveland to Avoid Cleveland Heights, Lakewood, and Euclid

If you were wondering what the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs tells its citizens who are contemplating a trip to Cleveland, wonder no more.

According to its website, the ministry is telling French visitors to avoid the dangerous suburban neighborhoods of Cleveland Heights, Lakewood, and Euclid by night and by day. East Cleveland, it would seem, is totally fine.

Here's a screenshot of the posting with the rough translation pasted below (thanks to Redditor self.Cleveland for pointing us toward this!)-

Cleveland: the city center is not dangerous during the day, but at night is not recommended. It is recommended to avoid some adjacent neighborhoods, by day and by night, especially Cleveland Heights, Lakewood and Euclid.

Well, the French government may be royally misleading potential Cleveland-bound tourists, but at least they got one thing right: Cleveland's still better than Detroit.

Detroit: Don't go out after dark (roughly).

Touché.
