Valentine’s Day, the equal parts loved and hated “Hallmark Holiday,” is quickly approaching, but Clevelanders still looking for Feb. 14 date may be in luck.
The folks over at Nerd Wallet, a consumer advocacy site, recently conducted a study and found that Cleveland is one of the best cities in the U.S. for singles.
Nerd Wallet looked at several things to come up with the ranking including the percentage of the population that is unmarried, the number of bars and restaurants per 1000 residents, the city’s walkability, the cost of a date, and the unemployment rate.
Cleveland ranked first in the number of available singles at a whoppin’ 77% and sixth overall.

i am calling BS on this study. there is no way that a date in Boston is cheaper than in Cleveland. they also have detroit ranked highly in something, so that’s also a dead giveaway.
Thirty-six bucks and change for an average date? That must include extreme couponing!

Yes…there is enough here to keep people single for a long long time…
I may not have had money to conduct a survey, but anyone who does research should be aware that not having a marriage license does not automatically make one single or available. Cleveland is a place with a lot of people who are not married but that doesn’t mean it’s easy to find a date.
BS! I’m a single young professional and I go many, many months between dates (all the while actively looking). I’m marginally below average looking, but I’m very friendly, social, funny, I have an above average income and I’m up for just about anything. This study is crap!
