The New York Times has a fascinating breakdown of where each state’s residents come from and in among the interesting nuggets found is this one: 75% of Ohio residents were born in Ohio. That number of Buckeye Born and Buckeye Bred and Buckeye Staying is only outpaced by two states — Louisiana and Michigan. 

Separately, as you might guess, Ohio doesn’t claim a super high number of migrants from the east or west coasts, rather instead drawing new residents from Pennsylvania, West Virginia and other Midwest abodes who are in close enough proximity to Ohio’s grandness to know it’s the only logical destination.

  1. Looks like most people that are born in Ohio choose to stay here, which is a good thing. The more we can keep our talent here, the better the state will become.
