According to Doug Kirby, kids won’t be so quick to hop in the sack if you talk to them about condoms and birth-control pills. The California research scientist’s 2001 report on preventing teen pregnancy revealed that the teen-pregnancy rate for girls between 15 and 19 plummeted by more than a third from 1990-2000, the result of a boost in sex-ed classes in high schools. Kirby discusses his findings at the City Club today and offers tips on what to tell your kids.
