Judging by the cast of writer-director Roman Coppola’s A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III, you’d think it would be a terrific film. Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman — veterans who have worked so well with Wes Anderson, a Coppola collaborator — have major roles in the movie. Patricia Arquette is another veteran who has a role here, too. But their talent goes to waste on this incomprehensible movie about a graphic designer (Charlie Sheen) who loses it when his girlfriend (Katheryn Winnick) breaks up with him. While some of the outlandish outfits are rather fetching (and work to create the kind of alternate reality you find in an Anderson film), the story just doesn’t amount to much. And Sheen might be good at punching out one-liners in sit-coms but he’s not up to the task here. Cedar Lee Theatre.
