The North Coast Men’s Chorus is now selling “sponsorships” of songs on its upcoming holiday CD, Sugar Plum Fairies (which is appropriately titled, since the choir is made up of gay dudes). For instance, your recipient’s name goes next to “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” on the liner notes if you fork over $628.50. If he’s not that good a friend, you’ve got options: $363 gets you “Boogie Woogie Santa Claus” and $193.50 merits “Dance of the Toy Flutes.”
“Imagine the surprise when that special person in your life opens their holiday gift and finds that there is a song on a wonderful CD dedicated in their honor,” trumpets Rich Cole, the chorus’ director.
