Judging by his MySpace page, it’s hard getting around the notion that Dark Lord 10,000,000 might just be one sick #&%$ing bastard. We learn there that the Cleveland artist idolizes Church of Satan founder Anton LaVey. There’s pictures of gore-porn chicks and dead babies, of demon children and abused transsexuals. The Dark Lord’s own self-portrait? It’s an image of a mutilated, crucified body. Good fun, this.
So it’s not a stretch when the folks at Touch supper club say that Halloween weekend was their only chance to showcase this guy’s sculptures without feeling the wrath of culture Nazis. Based on what we’ve seen, that just might happen anyway.
An exhibit of the Dark Lord’s works — mostly sculptures of eviscerated children, which would look fabulous in the den by the way — starts Friday night at the Ohio City club. Gape at his “sociopolitical” creations starting at 8, then work off your outrage with the Spores, an electro-alt band from L.A. that features a handful of humans, puppets, and somebody named “Stunbunny.” No kidding, we are not making this up. — Erich Burnett
