July is national hot dog month!

And according to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (yes, it really does exist), the average American eats approximately 60 hotdogs per year.

That’s a substantial number of hotdogs, when you think about it.

While the number of hot dog shops is by no means comparable to the number of great burger joints we have here in Northeast Ohio, there are a handful of restaurants that definitely know how to put out some quality dogs.

In honor of this glorious, processed-meat filled month, we’ve compiled a list of 9 awesome places to chow down on some of the area’s best dogs.
