Gone are the days when you’d buy a Cavs’ ticket for no other reason than to see the visiting team. Gone are the days when three quarters was torture enough. Gone are the days when you’d scan the upcoming season looking desperately for an opponent with worse prospects or statistical output.
The 2013-2014 schedule, freshly released, is rife with winnable games. The young caballeros look poised to remain a competitive side throughout the year and (barring injury, emotional meltdown or natural disaster) secure a playoff spot.
Here are eight matchups which should be particularly worthwhile live entertainment (and not for reasons you might think).

There should be plenty of excitement swirling around the Cavs this season.
as opposed to recent years, when every game was a game you wanted to miss!
Sports fans in northeast Ohio have been mightily patient with Dan Gilbert’s rebuilding process….if the Cavs stumble to another lousy season – which should be a major disappointment – Gilbert will have to make a huge acquisition in free agency to make a statement on building a winner. At some point. patience will turn into apathy — the Dolan’s know about that one when trying to fans into the stands at the ballpark.
